September has crept up on me. I know that I talked about the calendar last posting, but somehow I fell into the changing weather of August. The humid end of August reminded us of when we lived in Florida. Granted, the humidity wasn’t as great as that of Del Rey Beach. But as I said, it was a reminder. It was as if I were back resisting going outside and finally walking out and feeling the hair on the back of my neck curl ever tighter while I went to my car to go to work.

It’s August and the month of Departure from Meetup!  I feel a sense of relief and great joy. The relief is that Tahlia and I can keep our club a free membership.

July is here! The summer has officially begun and there are no holidays to interrupt the sunny days. The choice of planners for the “year” begins again!

Misty Simon is our author for June. She’ll be speaking to our group on June 22nd on Zoom. Join us for an hour of wonderful discussion and many laughs. Misty is wonderful!

It’s April Fool’s Day and the beginning of April. Have fun everyone!

It’s almost springtime -- clocks go forward (March 9), Dr. Seuss is celebrated (March 2) and children are encouraged to read, and one of my favorites, for no reason at all, St. Patrick’s Day is March 17th. Of course St. Patrick’s Day is on the heels of the Ides of March (the 15th) so watch those ravens and crows! We meet March 23rd with Heather Weidner as our guest author. RSVP! It’s going to be great!

It’s February which is a bit unbelievable to me. First it was about to be 2025 which I thought at that time was unbelievable. Now, January has slipped by and it’s already February. I have to take a step back and say “What have I accomplished?”

Happy New Year everyone. I have outdone myself in the number of resolutions that I made. I’m hoping to keep at least some of them!

December is the month of lists. Will I ever learn to play chess or publish my first book or finish my second book? Oh my! Then there are the lists for this month only including shopping lists, present lists, book lists, lists of lists…the lists go on.

We had a most hilarious time playing Scrabble last month after we discussed the book A Fatal Fudge Swirl by Meri Allen. Who knew that the members could get so competitive! Join us and find out.

The best of times is here October Blog! We get to celebrate holidays with good food, read fabulous books, and make suggestions for next year's reading list. What could be better?

Emily Dickenson is one of America's most revered poets. She was influenced by many of the transcendentalists however she tended to use her own rules for rhyme schemes and punctuation. She was known to be reclusive but had a circle of friends with whom she had an active correspondence.

August is a month to fill with exciting books that take you to places that you have never visited. It also has holidays that are fun, like National S’mores Day and National Waffle Day.

The wallpaper is fun, but the bars are my freedom to get around without help.

The June calendar is full of exceptional celebration days (like National Ballpoint Pen Day) and our meeting on the 23rd.

May is full of celebrations that include National Chocolate Chip Day on the 15th and National Asparagus Day on the 24th. Guess which one I like the best!

It’s spring and I begin to think of growing flowers. This is a yearly crush! Each year I fancy myself having pots and pots of flowers growing with wild abandon
