July 2026 Newsletter

‍ ‍ What a wonderful month! At least, I think that it’s a wonderful time – I’m finally out of the hospital (I had to go back again because of my wound infection) and the neurosurgeon agrees that I should start reducing some of my nerve pain. This is the first time in six years that I don’t have left leg pain. I’m elated.

Of course, during the return to the hospital I skipped over some June birthdays. So, happy birthday Donna. It’s a heartfelt wish and if you have a June birthday, the same to you.

For those in June and July! May the year be sweet!

Tahlia was the host for the June meeting. I dropped in, and I can tell you that it was full of chitchat and lots of fun. We didn’t get to play a game, but there was a lively discussion about our novel, The Case of the Elusive Bombay Duck. Everyone loved the book and hopes that all of our choices can be as much fun. Me too!

This month our meeting is on July 26th and the book is The Cracked Spine, a Scottish Bookshop Mystery by Paige Shelton. It has some ghostly visits and trips around Edinburgh through the narrow alleys each called a Close and some interesting visits to pubs. It’s a good read and should appeal to anyone who likes a bit of paranormal in their cup of coffee or tea along with a touch of romance. I hope to see you on Zoom.
