I’m Karin. Eight years ago, I said goodbye to my job and devoted myself to painting, reading, tutoring, and discovering how great it is to not keep my eye on the clock. Since then, I’ve joined book clubs, met amazing people who love to read as much as or even more than me, and become the devoted caretaker, along with my daughter, Diana, of Barnaby Jones, our handsome Coton de Tulear.

Reading has enriched my life in ways that I never would have imagined. My favorite novels are mysteries, and cozies are my special favorites. I started a Meetup group called The Cozy Mystery Book Club because I was confident that there were others out there who loved cozies as much as I love them. We meet each month and I am awed by the knowledge my new friends bring to the meetings. Our group keeps expanding and we are finding that there are cozy lovers everywhere. I’m starting this website with the notion that we’ll make even more acquaintances.

We’re planning to add recipes to the website as well as suggestions for favorite drinks. If you have a favorite recipe or drink, please share. Hopefully, when we can get together again, we can try out the recipes. We are so looking forward to sharing a cup of tea and a delicious sweet.

What else? I grew up on the east coast, moved to California when I was in college, earned an MA from Cal State University, Los Angeles, and my PhD in Education K-12 Leadership from Walden University.
